Project Goals

The USGS Earthworm Development Group is working to improve the ability of seismic networks and emergency responders to effectively use seismic information for response and mitigation activities.

Project goals include:

• Real-time integration of seismic data and information from global, national, regional and urban seismic networks.
• Rapid distribution of seismic source parameters and ground effects information.
• Flexible tools for emergency responders, monitoring agencies, researchers, public, and the media.
